Dive into an ocean of possibilities this summer at the libraries! The 2022 Summer Reading Program, “Oceans of Possibilities,” features water, ocean animals, and, of course, stories! This community-sustained program engages children, teens, and adults with fun activities, events for the entire family, incentives for reading over the summer, and more. Registration is free and open to all ages. You can register online starting Saturday, May 21 or by visiting your local library.

Why is Summer Reading Important?

  • It helps keep children from losing the ability they gained during the previous school year.

  • It engages reluctant readers with activities and programming related to reading.

  • It encourages reading as a lifelong habit.

  • It provides opportunities to socialize with peers in a positive setting.

  • It familiarizes children with libraries and valuable library services.
