Are you looking for something FUN to do this summer?  Hundreds of Delta County families participate in our Summer Reading Program every year.  This community-sustained program inspires children, teens and adults to read and explore through exciting and relevant programs, reading incentives, and special activities throughout the summer.

The 2021 program, "Tails and Tales," features animals, creatures and critters of all kinds, and, of course, STORIES! The eight-week program offers engaging opportunities for participants of all ages to read, learn, enjoy fun activities, and earn prizes throughout the summer.

Why is Summer Reading Important?

  • It helps keep children from losing the ability they gained during the previous school year.

  • It engages reluctant readers with activities and programming related to reading.

  • It encourages reading as a lifelong habit.

  • It provides opportunities to socialize with peers in a positive setting.
