It is never too early to start reading to your child!  Delta County Libraries is committed to strengthening children’s literacy through library services and community advocacy.  Our Storytimes introduce children to the joy of reading through stories, activities, movement, music, and play. Children, ages 0-5, and their caretakers are invited to join us for weekly Storytimes and Play Groups.

Delta Library Storytime will not meet during the move to the new library building. Please visit one of our other locations for Storytime or Play Group.

Reading aloud to your child is one of the most important things you can do to help them develop the skills needed to read and write.

Tips for Getting Started

Choose a book that is appropriate for your child's age and development

Read with energy and enthusiasm

Sing songs and tell nursery rhymes

Make sure your child can see and touch the book

Allow your child to touch and explore

Take books with you wherever you go

Ask questions, point to words and pictures, and talk about the story

Ask a librarian for more suggestions

Storytime is one of our most popular programs. Children, ages 0-5, and their caretakers are invited to join us for stories, fun activities, songs, movement, and more!
