Hundreds of Delta County kids have already registered for the 2019 Summer Reading Program “A Universe of Stories.”

“Our kick-off parties the week of June 3 were very well-attended,” says Lea Hart, district director of Delta County Libraries. “The good news is, those who missed out can still register for the program and join in the fun.”

Now through the end of July, space-themed programs, stories, activities, games, treats, and incentives for reading are available for the entire family to enjoy. As the summer heats up, participants can cool off while learning about a variety of subjects, among them, black holes, designing a universe bookmark, launching a rocket, exploring the phases of the moon, and more.

“We also want the community to know that families can participate from home if they are unable to make it to the library for programs,” says Hart. “And they still have the opportunity to earn a T-shirt and other prizes, like books and gift certificates.”
