What to know

Are children allowed to visit the library?

Yes.  Children age 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Do I need to wear a mask during my visit?

Masks are optional while in the building.

We will provide masks and hand sanitizer for our patrons upon entering the building.

Additionally, we request that patrons do not enter the building if sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19.

If a patron does not want to enter the building, the library will provide curbside service.

What safety precautions are in place?

We are following the guidelines and recommendations provided by our state and local health departments to ensure patron and staff member safety.

All DCL staff members will follow the recommended guidelines for regularly sanitizing surfaces and materials.

Sneeze guards have been installed at all check out counters.

Furniture and computers have been arranged or moved to allow for social distancing.

High-touch surfaces will be cleaned regularly.

Patrons can opt to “self-checkout” by scanning their own library card and materials.

We request that staff members and patrons do not enter the building if sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19.

We will provide masks and hand sanitizer at all library entrances.

All returned library materials will be sanitized prior to being available again for checkout.

We will provide browsing bins for items that are touched but not checked out so that the items can be sanitized.

We have a professional cleaning service on a structured weekly schedule at every library location.

Can I use a computer?

Yes.  Computer surfaces will be sanitized regularly.

Chromebooks are available for checkout, both for in-library use and home use for a one-week checkout period.

Headphones will not be available for checkout.  Patrons are encouraged to bring their own or purchase a set for $4.

Is curbside pickup still available?

Yes.  Curbside pickup is available by appointment only.  Please contact your local library during open hours to make arrangements.

Can I get technology assistance during my visit?

Limited technology assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis, keeping in mind social distancing.

We recommend that you fill out a request form with your specific needs as a first step to requesting technology assistance.

Can I request items from other libraries for pickup at my library?

Yes.  The statewide courier is operating.  Library patrons can request items from other libraries and pick them up at their home library.

Requests for materials from outside of Delta County may take extra time to process.

Will the Library offer in-person programming?
What else has changed at the library?

Children’s toys, AWE stations, and hands-on activities are not available in children’s areas.

Study rooms in Paonia and Delta are available by appointment only.

Community rooms are available by appointment only.  Contact your library for more information.

Work spaces are limited to provide for social distancing.
