Join us at Delta Library for a watercolor scenes art exhibit by Fred Honchell during the month of August through October.

Visit the Delta Library to view an art exhibit by Fred Honchell featuring watercolor scenes.

Fred Honchell is a transparent watercolor artist living in Delta, Colorado. His formal art training was built by taking classes in drawing, painting, and design at Red Rocks Community College in Golden, Colorado; as well as numerous workshops over the years with notable artists including Edgard Whitney, Irving Shapiro, Ratindra Das, Maxine Masterfield, and, most recently, Stephen Quiller. One such workshop in 1995 with Buffalo Kaplinski encouraged Fred to work en plein air. This method has been Fred’s primary ever since.

Honchell states that “Painting directly from nature stimulates my creativity with not only the visual aspect of on-site true colors, but also from the sounds and smells of nature thrown in.”

Fred is a Master Signature Member of the Western Colorado Watercolor Society and has been a member for 14 years. He has many paintings in private collections and is represented at the TADA Gallery located in Columbine Mall on Main Street in Delta, Colorado.

The exhibit at Delta Library will be available for viewing during the months of August through October, during the library’s open hours.
