Voices of the Western Slope: Exploring Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic
September 12 @ 6:00 pm MDT
Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center and Delta County Libraries present “Voices of the Western Slope,” a series of entertaining, engaging, and informative presentations on noteworthy topics of the Western Slope.
As a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, Delta High School science teacher, Ben Graves, was invited to be part of an Arctic expedition to Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic Islands. Throughout this voyage, he enjoyed exciting moments with polar bears, narwhals and walruses and experienced firsthand the dramatically changing landscape of the Arctic. Upon returning, his goal is to connect this experience with his students and community here in Western Colorado. Despite being thousands of miles away, we have a profound connection to the Arctic. Come hear a unique perspective about the rapidly changing Arctic through stories, videos and pictures and discuss the stewardship actions we can take here in Colorado!
Join us at the beautiful Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center on Thursday, September 12 at 6:00pm for “Exploring Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic.”
There is a recommended donation of $10 at the door to cover presentation costs.
