Music in the Amphitheater: North Forkestra & the Cowboy Corral
June 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm MDT
The summer music series at Paonia Library opens with “North Forkestra,” a local community chamber orchestra that plays an eclectic mix of styles and genres, from 17th century baroque and tangos to rock and roll Then, “The Cowboy Corral,” a group of ordinary folks from up and down the Roaring Fork Valley, will take the stage. The “Cowboy Corral” has an extra-ordinary love for keeping the cowboy era alive through music and stories. Besides singing in four-part harmony, the group is known for yodeling, sharing cowboy humor, and including some fascinating but little known history about cowboy songs. The songs paint a picture of the cowboy lifestyle as the west transformed from wide-open range land to homesteads to a modern lifestyle. You’ll hear songs you know well and can sing along to as well as some new treasures. Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30pm in Paonia Library’s Amphitheater. Picnic and take out dinners are welcome. The show will move indoors if necessary, so come rain or shine!
