Introduction to Relief Printmaking

July 20 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm MDT

Join us for a special workshop introducing the process of relief print making.

Local artist John Marc Bimonte presents a single- session workshop introducing students to the basics of both relief and monotype printmaking.

Students comfortable with the safe use of cutting tools can learn the process of carving and printing blocks.

The workshop will also introduce the art of gyotaku, or “fish-rubbing”. The ancient way fisherman and women used to preserve their catches can now be done with rubber fish instead.

All materials are non-toxic and water-based for safety and ease of cleanup.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To register, visit Cedaredge Library or call 970-399-7674.

This program is part of the 2024 Summer Reading Program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Register for the SRP to win fun prizes and incentives for reading and sharing your adventures.
