Genealogy Class: Research & Documentation

October 3, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm MDT

Adults are invited to Delta Library for a Genealogy Class taught by Jerry McHugh.  The second class in the series is “Research & Documentation: Census and Vital Records”.  Participants will learn what information can be found in US Census records and how to research county and state records for birth, death and marriage records.  Leave with more information in your personal family tree Thursday, October 3 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

Jerry McHugh has more than 30 years experience in genealogy. His family tree includes more than 30,000 people and goes back as far as the 9th century (21 generations). He is a third generation native of Cedaredge, and his Great Grandfather was one of the original settlers in Escalante canyon before moving his family to the Surface Creek Valley in 1891. Jerry’s 2nd cousin Joyce got him interested in genealogy when she created a tree focused on his 2nd great grandparents. He is currently writing a book about the pioneers who settled in the Surface Creek Valley and their families.
