Heidl Hasenauer Art Exhibit: Windows into the Soul

May 18

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until July 27, 2024

Image depicts a piece of artwork created by Heidi Hasenauer.

“The shadow is only darkness if we ignore it. When we spend time in it everything becomes illuminated.”

“Windows Into the Soul” features artworks by Heidl Hasenauer. Hasenauer is a Colorado based artist who was technically trained in 3D sculptural arts. Her desire to create quickly and with little to no plan led her away from long-drawn out techniques and toward fast drying acrylic paint. She has been dedicated to painting since her move from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the Western Slope of Colorado in 2008.

The works hanging on these walls touch upon love and loss, loneliness and longing, the life cycles, womanhood, transformation, empowerment. Using vibrant, emotionally charged color I seek balance in composition and use representational and abstracted imagery from memory and imagination. There is a catharsis in painting that occurs when I allow myself the freedom to create from my mind as opposed to recreate what is outside of me. Separately, these paintings are accounts of self-discovery and when viewed in relation to one another they become windows into one woman’s soul as she attempts to understand and come to terms with the human condition. The focus of this series is based on understanding the effects of experience and phenomena on the human psyche.

The art exhibit will be on display from May 1 to July 27, 2024.
