Armchair Travel Series: Exploring Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic

September 27 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm MDT

Ben Graves

Join us at Paonia Library for an Armchair Travel event that will transport attendees to Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic.  Presenter Ben Graves will reprise his acclaimed program, first presented last winter, as part of the 2019 Mountain Harvest Festival.  As a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, Delta High School science teacher, Ben Graves, was invited to be part of an Arctic expedition to Greenland and the Canadian High Arctic Islands.  Throughout this voyage, he enjoyed exciting moments with polar bears, narwhals and walruses and experienced firsthand the dramatically changing landscape of the Arctic. Upon returning, his goal is to connect this experience with his students and community here in Western Colorado.  Despite being thousands of miles away, we have a profound connection to the Arctic. Come hear a unique perspective about the rapidly changing Arctic through stories, videos and pictures and discuss the stewardship actions we can take here in Colorado!  Friday, September 27 at 2:00pm.
